Auto Homeowners Umbrella Earthquake Commercial

If a fire starts in your home, you have about 2 minutes to get out.  That is not a whole lot of time to figure out what to do.

Here is some information from the American Red Cross:

Talk with all household members about a fire escape plan and practice the plan twice a year.

Test smoke alarms once a month, if they're not working, change the batteries.

Teach your children what smoke alarms sound like and what to do when they hear one.

Download the Monster Guard: Prepare for Emergencies mobile gameto teach kids about fire safety and other disasters.

Carbon monoxide alarms are not substitutes for smoke alarms. Know the difference between the sound of smoke alarms and carbon monoxide alarms.

Teach household members to STOP, DROP and ROLL if their clothes should catch on fire.

If closed doors or handles are warm, use your second way out. Never open doors that are warm to the touch.

Crawl low under smoke.

Install carbon monoxide alarms in central locations on every level of your home and outside sleeping areas. Carbon Monoxide kills!

Planning and practice can save you and your families lives.
